Lawyer for woman suing 50 Cent calls bankruptcy claim ‘laughable'

50 cent courtOn Tuesday, 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, testified in a Manhattan Supreme Court that his flashy lifestyle is not all it's cracked up to be.

Jackson explained in court that while his social-media accounts may be filled with flashy photos, "I take the jewelry and the cars back to the stores."

50 cent instagramWhile Forbes estimated the rapper's fortune to be about $155 million in May, Jackson's lawyer said in court Tuesday that his client's worth is $4.4 million, which presents a problem after he was recently hit with a $5 million verdict for publishing a sex tape starring rival Rick Ross' ex-girlfriend, Lastonia Leviston, without her consent.

"It’s almost laughable for Mr. Jackson to think anyone believes he’s broke and that everything is smoke and mirrors," Leviston’s attorney, Hunter Shkolnik told The Wrap Tuesday. "His business entities show otherwise."

During his testimony, the rapper also claimed he only made "10 cents a record" from his 38 million album sales, and just $100,000 for the two movies he's currently in, "Spy" and "Southpaw." For his hit Straz series "Power," on which he is also an executive producer, Jackson said he's pocketed only $150,000 from each of its first two seasons.

50cent starz power bankruptThe rapper hasn't exactly been coy about why he declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy after a jury handed down a $5 million verdict against him.

"I need protection," 50 Cent explained while appearing on TBS' "Conan.""You get a bull's-eye painted on your back when you’re successful, and it’s public. You become the ideal person for lawsuits."

Despite the filing, Jackson did admit that he recently threw cash around at a Florida strip club and bought a Rolls Royce on July 4, but added "I took two others back" to buy it, according to New York Daily News.

50 cent moneyJackson did manage to say a minor apology to Lastonia Leviston on Tuesday in court: "I'm sorry if you feel like I hurt you."

Amy Schumer is officially a bona fide Hollywood star.

The 34-year-old comedian's debut film, "Trainwreck,"opened to impressive box-office numbers this weekend, and she recently earned her first Emmy nomination as an actress for her hit Comedy Central show "Inside Amy Schumer."

But Schumer's rise to fame wasn't easy. Here's how the stand-up comic from New York became a Hollywood star.

Amy Schumer

Amy Schumer is known for joking about her sex life, but the comedian says that with the upcoming election she will soon tackle politics as well — whether people like it or not.

"I think people only want women to speak for so long. They build you up, and then they're just ready to tear you down. Like Hillary — when it's really go time for her, I'll definitely be active, and that'll make people hate me," Schumer tells GQ in a new cover interview. "I know inevitably I'll get more political, just as an adult with changing interests, which is good — no one wants to hear me talk about who I f----d or whatever for another twenty years. And I hope I'm wrong, but I just think there's this 'Don't disappoint me in any way.' If you say one joke that offends, it feels like, 'Oh, wait, I thought you were my everything, and now you're dead to me.'"

But Schumer doesn't care what people think about her outspoken political views, telling GQ she's "always been a fan" of Hillary Clinton.

In November, the comedian met Clinton for the first time at the Glamour Women of the Year awards.

It was very cool. She was a good audience member," Schumer said of the meeting. "She commented on a couple of the jokes I told."

One joke in particular that Clinton told Schumer she resonated with: "I said that in L.A. my arms register as legs, and she really liked that. She was like, 'I can relate.'"

But not everyone was as kind to Clinton during the Women of the Year awards.

"One of the acts that had gone up before me did some stuff that was very disrespectful to her, and I definitely didn't think it was funny," said Schumer. "I said to her, like, 'What the f--- was that?' She just goes, 'Par for the course.... I'm so used to it.'"

After spending six months in a coma, Bobbi Kristina Brown, the daughter of singer Whitney Houston and R&B star Bobby Brown died on Sunday.

The initial autopsy results are in, and according to Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office, there are no signs of significant injuries.

"The autopsy does not show an obvious underlying cause of death and no significant injuries were noted," the office said in a press release. "No previously unknown medical conditions that could have contributed to death were identified. "

The examiners predict that the entire process will take "several weeks" saying they don't plan to determine anything until "all test results are completed and all investigative, medical, and other documentary records are received and thoroughly reviewed."

In a previous press release, the office specifically referenced the time elapsed between the initial event on January 31st, and Brown's resulting death saying it "will complicate reconstruction of the events surrounding her initial unresponsiveness. "

They added, "Interpretation of autopsy findings and other information will be challenging,"

The Houston family released a statement on Brown's late mother's facebook page: "It is hard to say goodbye. On Sunday, July 26, Bobbi Kristina Brown made her transition peacefully. The family thanks everyone for their loving thoughts and prayers."

Brown will be buried next to her mother, the late Whitney Houston.

50 Cent on bankruptcy filing: 'It’s strategic'

Larry King 50 CentWhile on a press tour promoting his new movie "Southpaw," 50 Cent continues to discuss his bankruptcy filing, insisting time and again that it was a protective move after the rapper was slapped with a $5 million lawsuit for publishing a sex tape featuring his rival Rick Ross' ex-girlfriend without her consent.

During an appearance Monday on the Season 4 premiere of Ora TV’s "Larry King Now," 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, further explained why he filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on July 13th:

"It’s strategic," said the rapper. "It’s a move that was necessary for me to make at this point so I didn’t allow myself to create that big red and white bullseye on my back, where I become the person that people consistently come to."

50 Cent Conan50 Cent previously explained during an appearance on "Conan": "When you’re successful and it’s public, you become the ideal person for lawsuits."

But despite any negative backlash the rapper has received since filing for bankruptcy, Jackson says it doesn't bother him.

"I’ve seen so many things said about me on social networking at points and when you don’t anticipate it, it lands a little harder on you," he told Larry King. "I can see what’s gonna come from people. It lasts a week before they start going in a different direction."

Last week, 50 Cent testified in Manhattan Supreme Court that his flashy lifestyle is simply an illusion, and that he returns the cars and jewelry he shows off on social media.

"It’s almost laughable for Mr. Jackson to think anyone believes he’s broke and that everything is smoke and mirrors," Leviston’s attorney, Hunter Shkolnik told The Wrap last week. "His business entities show otherwise."

While Forbes estimated the rapper's fortune to be about $155 million in May, Jackson's lawyer said in court last Tuesday that his client's worth is $4.4 million, which presents a problem after he was hit with a $5 million verdict for allegedly publishing a sex tape starring Rick Ross' ex-girlfriend, Lastonia Leviston.

Off the baseball field, Derek Jeter is known for dating beautiful women like Minka Kelly, Vanessa Minnillo, and his current girlfriend, Sports Illustrated cover model, Hannah Davis. But the former Yankee says he makes a strong effort to keep his private life out of the media because he isn't immune to the scrutiny.

"I was always scared that I’d see my name and then scroll to see what they’re saying," Jeter recalls in a new cover interview with The Hollywood Reporter. "And I didn’t want to deal with that when I was playing. I’d tell my family and friends, 'If you read something or hear something, don’t tell me about it.' I didn’t want to read negativity."

"I always knew that my job was to limit distractions for my team and not cause headlines," he added. "So I kept a lot of things to myself."

Once shunning the media, Jeter is now embracing it with his new website, The Players' Tribune (TPT).

Actor James Woods is suing a Twitter user for $10 million for calling him a cocaine addict

James Woods

While most celebrities tend to turn a blind eye toward the hateful tweets they recieve, actor James Woods has decided to make a multi-million dollar response to one of his Twitter bashers.

Woods, 68, recently filed a $10 million lawsuit against an anonymous Twitter user for allegedly accusing Woods of being addicted to cocaine.

James Woods

Woods filed the lawsuit in the Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday. The suit accuses the anonymous owner of now-defunct Twitter account "Abe List" of orchestrating a "malicious on-line campaign ... to discredit and damage Woods' reputation."

The Twitter bashing allegedly started in December 2014, when Abe List began a campaign of "childish name-calling" in response to a number of Woods' tweets. "In the past, AL has referred to Woods with such derogatory terms as 'prick,' 'joke,' 'ridiculous,' 'scum' and 'clown-boy,'" the suit reads.

The tweet that "stepped over the line," however, was a response that List made to the "Once Upon a Time in America" actor on July 15, which read, "cocaine addict James Woods still sniffing and spouting."

james woods

According to the suit, Woods "is not now, nor has he ever been, a cocaine addict, and [Abe List] has no reason to believe otherwise."

Woods' complaint states that List's "reckless and malicious behavior" on Twitter has now "jeopardized Woods' good name and reputation on an international scale."

On accusations of defamation and invasion of privacy by false light, the actor is seeking damages from the anonymous Twitter user "in an amount not less than $10 million."

Beyond looking for retribution, Woods' case seems intent on curing the ills of social media in general:

"AL, and anyone else using social media to propagate lies and do harm, should take note," the suit reads. "They are not impervious to the law.

'Friends' co-creator says it's 'ridiculous' that the show's stars made $1 million per episode

friends cast

Toward the end of NBC's sitcom "Friends," the show's cast members famously negotiated a deal that paid each of them a whopping $1 million per episode.

Recently, Marta Kauffman, one of the "Friends" co-creators, admitted that she found the actors' salary demands to be a bit excessive.

Kauffman, who is now the showrunner of Netflix's "Grace and Frankie," spoke on "Friends" at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour on Tuesday. As The Wrap reported, Kauffman was responding to a reporter's question on the differences between her previous and current jobs when she called the million-dollar "Friends" deal "ridiculous."

marta kauffman"A million dollars an episode is kinda ridiculous," Kaufmann said. "Let's be honest, that's a lot of money."

"I think it’s inflated," she continued. "And there’s something unrealistic about it. Not everybody is going to get a million dollars an episode. So I think actually what we’re all doing [at Netflix] is actually more reasonable and makes more sense."

Kauffman added that the Netflix model of producing 13 or fewer episodes per season actually stemmed from the unrealistic demands of shooting traditional sitcoms like "Friends."

"When you do 24 episodes for a network, you know, that’s your whole year. You don’t have time to do other stuff, Kauffman said. "When an actor is doing 13 episodes, they have many, many, many weeks left. They can pursue movies and theater and other stuff."

grace and frankie netflixAccording to Kauffman, Netflix's refusal to share their ratings with actors, showrunners or the public also allows for an environment that's more conducive to creativity than the advertising-centric model of traditional television.

"[Friends] was a case where the cast knew how valuable the show was to the network in terms of the advertisers," Kauffman said. "There are no advertisers on Netflix. And I think you’re hoping that I’ll say ‘It’s frustrating’ but the truth is, it’s wonderful, because there’s only one thing we’re doing — we’re not pandering to advertisers, we’re not pandering to a network, all we’re doing is making the show we want and that we believe in.”

Without knowledge of their show's ratings, however, Netflix actresses like Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda from Kauffman's "Grace and Frankie" would potentially have a difficult time leveraging for greater pay. For now, Kauffman doesn't really see this as an issue:

"If someday, the cast says, ‘We’re worth more than you’re offering,’ then we’ll deal with it then."

50 cent court

In the wake of filing for bankruptcy, rapper Curtis Jackson, aka "50 Cent," has pulled back the curtain on his seemingly lavish lifestyle.

Before filing for bankruptcy, 50 Cent was hit with a court order to pay $5 million to Lastonia Leviston. The woman had won the payment in court after the rapper allegedly released a sex tape of her to embarrass the rapper's nemesis, Rick Ross, who had fathered one of her children.

Leviston's lawyers believed 50 Cent's bankruptcy was a way to avoid paying Leviston, so they took him to court again. But on the stand, 50 Cent indicated his wealth was little more than an illusion. In other words, he merely led the public to believe he was a baller. Jackson says he did this because the whole music industry is about aspiring to something greater.

Here are six ways 50 Cent says he embellished his hip-hop lifestyle, according to a transcript of the testimony he gave in the Leviston lawsuit:

1. He recycled his gold chains.

SXSW was fun shout out to hang W/ #smsaudio

A photo posted by 50 Cent (@50cent) on Mar 12, 2014 at 3:14pm PDT on

50 Cent claims he could barely fill a jewelry drawer, let alone a whole jewelry chest. He said that he only actually owns "two or three chains" at "$30,000, $40,000" each. But, how does he make it seem as if he has more? The rapper says he takes those chains to a jeweler who can transform them into new, unrecognizable pieces of bling.

Lawyer: How many chains have you got?
Jackson: Two or three chains.
Lawyer: I'm sorry?
Jackson: Two or three different chains. What I do is take the jewelry back to the jeweler and they redo the jewelry with the same gold from the last thing. During album cycles I change, so you'll see a whole lot of stuff. But I take it back and have them change it into new stuff.
Lawyer: You have 30 to $40,000 in gold chains?
Jackson: Yes.

2. He traded in cars to get new ones.

Times are hard out here LMAO #FRIGO #SMSAUDIO

A photo posted by 50 Cent (@50cent) on Jul 13, 2015 at 9:43pm PDT on

Ten days before his testimony, interviewer Nick Grimshaw said 50 Cent bought a $300,000 Rolls Royce on a whim right before an interview. (Above, 50 Cent makes light of his bankruptcy with photo of himself with a smart car.)

But, according to 5o Cent's testimony, that story wasn't exactly true:

Lawyer: It is a false story in the sense it never happened?
Jackson: No, I got the car. But I took two cars that I had that back.
Lawyer: So the story that came out, you know the story, which is you just decided you just had to get a Rolls Royce and you bought one --
Jackson: That is the guy's interpretation of it.

50 Cent once took Forbes magazine on a tour of his car collection, which consisted of three similarly painted blue vehicles, including a Range Rover, a Lamborghini Murcielago, a Bentley Mulsanne, and a Yamaha motorcycle. 50 Cent had really become good at presenting a lavish, mogul lifestyle to the press. But here's what he says the truth about his cars really was:

Lawyer: Have you filmed yourself showing all your cars or showing a lot of cars that you now say aren't yours, but have you made films showing off all the cars that you own?
Jackson: You mean like MTV "Cribs," maybe.
Lawyer: I mean like you standing in front of a camera saying this is my Lamborghini and this is my Rolls and this is my Ferrari?
Jackson: I did it once.
Lawyer: You did that?
Jackson: Yes.
Lawyer: Ferrari, Lamborghini, Rolls, Chevy Blazer or Suburbans, I'm sorry, they were specially equipped and cost a few hundred thousand dollars each?

Jackson: Yes.
Lawyer: You did all that and said those cars were yours?
Jackson: Yes. At that time, those cars were rented.

Below, watch 50 Cent show off his rented cars on another TV show:

 4. He says he never actually placed a $1.6 million Mayweather/Pacquiao bet.

Floyd Mayweather Manny PacquiaoOn March 3, 50 Cent talked to "The Breakfast Club" morning show on Power 105.1 in New York and said he was betting $1.6 million Floyd Mayweather Jr. would defeat Manny Pacquiao in the boxers’ much-hyped bout that happened in May. Mayweather did win, and though Jackson has said he won the bet, even on “Conan” (video of that portion of the interview has since been taken off the show’s website), according Jackson’s testimony he never placed the bet.

Lawyer: Is it correct, sir, that you publicly stated -- and you said it on Conan O'Brien the other night -- that you bet 1.6 million dollars on Floyd Mayweather to win the fight that took place in early May?
Jackson: Yes.
Lawyer: You said you won that bet?
Jackson: Yes.
Lawyer: You won one million dollars?

Jackson: No, I didn't say that.

Lawyer: You didn't say that on the Conan show?
Jackson: No.
Lawyer: Okay. So what did you win on that bet?
Jackson: I didn't win anything on that.
Lawyer: Huh?
Jackson: I didn’t win anything on that, actually.
Lawyer: Did you make the bet?
Jackson: No.
Lawyer: You never made the bet?
Jackson: No.

Jackson has flaunted expensive watches on his Instagram account, while on the red carpet, and performing at concerts. But according to his testimony, the rapper/actor said he only owns three or four watches and that “they are not big name watches.”

In fact, he told the court that the watch he was wearing that day was a Casio G-SHOCK, which retails between $100 and $450, according to its website. Jackson went on to say that in the hip-hop culture, “People only follow things that they think is the next level” but that it’s all deceiving, just like a music video. “They say action and you see all these fancy cars,” he explained, “and when they say cut everything goes back to the dealership.”

In the testimony, at first Jackson cannot recollect the ring. He even states, “I don’t think it is possible to fit 65 carats [on a ring].”

However, when he’s shown a picture of the ring on Instagram he admits that he did post it and that he did not own it. “It was a borrowed piece of jewelry from a jeweler,” Jackson told the court.

Rapper Curtis Jackson, aka "50 Cent," claims that his assets are worth about $25 million, but that two separate court-ordered payments plus other high expenses have pushed him into bankruptcy.

He filed a statement of his financials in Connecticut bankruptcy court on Monday, and Business Insider has obtained a copy of it.

Here's how Jackson says he's drained his millions in just a few years' time.

The money going out: $108,000 per month in expenses and millions of dollars in lawsuits

50 cent courtApparently, 50 Cent was primarily forced into filing for bankruptcy after two court judgments put him over the top. There's the $7 million owed to Lastonia Leviston, the woman had won the payment in court after the rapper allegedly released a sex tape of her to embarrass the rapper's nemesis, Rick Ross, who had fathered one of her children.

And then, there's the electronics company Sleek Audio, which he owes an $18 million court-ordered payment after a partnership to produce headphones fell apart.

Those court orders total about $25 million, the amount 50 Cent claims in assets.

But, that's just the tip of the iceberg. The rapper claims another $7 million in liabilities.

50 Cent says he has about $108,000 in monthly expenses, which include his homes and personal expenses.

His lavish Connecticut house the one with 21 bedrooms, 24 bathrooms, and a nightclub — costs about $72,000 a month to maintain, he says. He spends about $5,000 per month on just the gardening.

He also pays a monthly $5,745 Bentley car lease and $12,000 in child support for two children. Additionally, he supports a grandparent in the amount of $2,500 a month.

50 Cent keeps himself looking good with about $3,000 a month on clothes and $1,000 a month on grooming.

What money is coming in? He has about $10 million in cash and investments

As far as his income, 50 Cent claimed he made $3.3 million from his music so far this year. He also made about $372,000 from SMS, his company that makes headphones, in 2015. Additionally, he has made $771,000 from numerous films, touring, merchandising, and other pursuits with G-Unit, 50 Cent's record label.

The rapper has $10 million in cash and $500,000 in cars, including three Chevy Suburbans and a 2010 Rolls Royce.

There is no mention of the income he made from film and TV work. Previously, 50 Cent stated that he made $100,000 each on "Southpaw" and "Spy," according to the court transcript acquired by Business Insider. As for Starz drama "Power," which the rapper acts in and executive produces, 50 Cent testified that he has made $150,000.

While rapper Curtis Jackson III ("50 Cent") would like the world to believe he's really not that rich, he can't hide the fact that it's expensive to be him.

50 Cent claims his monthly expenses total $108,000 or about $1.3 million a year. That includes both personal and household expenses, child support and car payments, according to documents filed in Connecticut bankruptcy court which Business Insider has acquired. Those fees also include thousands of dollars in monthly "personal grooming,""wardrobe" and "gardening" expenses.

50 Cent Curtis Jackson HouseA total of $72,000 a month goes to payments and upkeep for 50 Cent's three homes in Connecticut, New Jersey, and Georgia.

Jackson says the majority of that goes to the Connecticut home the one with 21 bedrooms, 24 bathrooms, and a nightclub. Jackson pays $17,400 for his mortgage every month. A utility bill totaling $14,200 a month powers all those rooms, plus a movie theater and a basketball court. He keeps the landscaping lush with $5,000 a month in gardening fees. And the swimming pool is probably ready to use 24 hours a day at just the perfect temperature for a $1,500 monthly maintenance fee.

Forbes' World's Highest-Paid Actors list is out and Robert Downey Jr. is once again at the top of the heap.

Downey Jr.'s $80 million 2015 earning comes from being the leader of the Marvel Studios universe as superhero Iron Man. This year he returned as part of The Avengers in "Avengers: Age of Ultron," which has grossed $1.4 billion worldwide since its release in May. The third-highest grossing movie of 2015.

Coming in second on the Forbes list is Jackie Chan at $50 million. The international star is beloved in his homeland of China, and this year he starred in the country's biggest movie of the year, "Dragon Blade," opposite John Cusack and Adrien Brody (the film comes to the US in September).

Rounding out the top five are Vin Diesel ($47 million), Bradley Cooper ($41.5 million), and Adam Sandler ($41 million), though the latter is coming off another box office disappointment with "Pixels."

People are furious after Kelly Osbourne asked Donald Trump: Who would clean your toilet if you kicked Latinos out of the US?

Kelly Osbourne The View

On Tuesday, Kelly Osbourne stuck her foot in her mouth while appearing as a guest cohost on "The View."

When discussing Donald Trump's recent controversial remarks about immigrants, Osbourne asked: "If you kick every Latino out of this country, then who is going to be cleaning your toilet, Donald Trump?"

Osbourne tried to explain her comments by reasoning that Trump takes advantage of the same people he relies on in his daily life.

But the other cohosts were not having it. Raven-Symone immediately objected to Osbourne's comments, and Rosie Perez snapped back: "Latinos are not the only people doing that."

Osbourne's remarks were quickly picked up and became a trending topic on Twitter in the US and worldwide.

People were not happy:

But perhaps most upset by the remarks was former "View" cohost Sherri Sherphard:

Realizing her gaffe, Osbourne released an apology statement late Tuesday, saying, "I will take responsibility for my poor choice of words":

Shepherd then eased up on Osbourne:

"The View" cohost Whoopi Goldberg defended Osbourne during Wednesday's show, saying that on live TV "you sometimes step in dog doo."

"The point she was actually trying to make," explained Goldberg, "is that Donald Trump’s stance on immigration would only end up hurting the people that Donald Trump is counting on."

Cohost Rosie Perez also voiced her support for Osbourne, saying at the end of the show: "Kelly Osbourne is on our side and I was sensitive. My disdain should go to only Donald Trump, so I'm sorry, darling." She also tweeted:

Still, some people aren't buying it.

In February, Osbourne quit the "Fashion Police" on E! after accusing cohost Giuliana Rancic of making another misinterpreted racist remark.

How Oscar Isaac went from being a ska musician in Florida to one of Hollywood's most wanted stars

Oscar Isaac is one of the most sought after actors in Hollywood right now.

Often compared to 1970s movie stars like Al Pacino and Robert De Niro, Isaac has become known in the past few years for churning out dark, brilliant performances in "Drive", "Inside Llewyn Davis", and 2014's "A Most Violent Year".

For Oscar Isaac, 2015 will be a year for the record books.

After an excellent performance in sci-fi indie "Ex Machina," he will also star in HBO miniseries "Show Me a Hero", and a little movie called "Star Wars". Plus, with a role in an "X-Men" sequel on the horizon, it looks like Oscar Isaac is truly about to become a huge movie star.

See how Oscar Isaac went from class troublemaker to future blockbuster star.

Oscar Isaac Hernandez was born in 1979 in Guatemala. His family left and moved all around the United States before finally settling in Miami.

Isaac shortened his name as a young actor in Miami to avoid being cast as the "Latino Gangster.""Being called Oscar Hernández in Miami is like being called John Smith; there are 15 pages of us in the phone book." said Isaac in 2014.

As a kid, he frequently got into trouble. In the seventh grade, Isaac was expelled from private school for many reasons, one of them being that he broke into somebody's ranch who bordered his school, and pet the animals.

Isaac liked to cause trouble at his private grade school when he was growing up. “I set off a fire extinguisher in the gym, defaced a mural, just stupid stuff,” he told The Globe And Mail in an interview.

Celebrity Gatekeepers: 7 personal assistants to Hollywood stars explain what their days are like

bethenny frankell

While the celebrity lifestyle may appear to be filled with glitzy red carpets and A-list events, there's plenty that goes on behind-the-scenes that isn't quite as glamorous.

Behind most celebrities is a team of people working to make sure everything looks perfect and runs smoothly in the hectic life of a star. In addition to agents, managers, publicists, and a glam squad, many stars also have a personal assistant managing the logistics of their hectic lives.

From booking flights to planning meetings and anything in between, assistants are the backbone of the busy schedules of many stars and entrepreneurs..

In New York, assistants for many leading celebrities and business moguls participate in a professional group called New York Celebrity Assistants.

We spoke with seven assistants from the association and learned about what it's like to work for a high-profile employer in New York City.

Meghan Herd helps handle the chaotic life of "Real Housewives" mogul Bethenny Frankel

"No two days are ever the same" when working for Skinnygirl Cocktails founder Bethenny Frankel, Frankel's executive assistant, Meghan Herd, tells Business Insider.

Herd began working for the entrepreneur and star of Bravo's "The Real Houswives of New York" in 2013, after deciding that she "needed a change" from her job as an assistant to a number of leading musicians.

As Frankel's assistant, Herd says she now wears "many hats."

"Whether I am trying to get a seat on a flight an hour before take-off, getting a table at the hottest new restaurant or making sure the office is running smoothly," Herd says, "I am proud of getting things done when somebody says it can’t be done."

Herd occassionally appears alongside her employer on "Real Housewives," and in an interview with Hollywood Life, Herd describes the experience of handling Frankel's chaotic travel schedule as being "like that scene in 'Home Alone' — we're just running to the gate everytime."

Vanessa King has worked closely with Julianne Moore for nearly ten years

2014 was a busy year for actress Julianne Moore.

As the assistant to Moore and her husband, filmmaker Bart Freundlich, Vanessa King acted as a “sort of Mission Control” for the actress’s travel plans and schedules during the hectic award season that culminated in Moore’s Oscar win for Best Actress.

King started the job nearly a decade ago, after leaving another assistant gig with the family who lived across the street from Moore. “I ran into Julie on the street,” King says, “and she asked if I was interested in working with her.”

Today, King works out of her employers’ luxurious West Village apartment, acting as a contact point for business matters and charities — such as The Children’s Health Fund and the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance, in which Moore is actively involved.

Gail Abrahamsen is the right-hand woman to "Shark Tank" star and real estate mogul Barbara Corcoran

Gail Abrahamsen became the personal assitant to real estate mogul Barbara Corcoran in 2005, and her job has grown in responsibilty as Corcoran's star has risen in recent years with her recurring role as a judge on ABC's "Shark Tank."

Handling Corcoran's three email accounts, Abrahamsen responds to over 300 emails per day. "Many hours are spent managing her endless media/TV appearance requests and making sure all are on the calendar (our bible)," Abrahamsen says.

When Corcoran requested a lavish launch party for her book, "Shark Tales," in 2011, Abrahamsen managed to come through with all of her employer's eclectic demands — including finding a model to dress up as a mermaid and two twin girls to greet her guests in swimsuits.

Whether planning out her employer's many speaking events or tracking down a "lost heirloom pearl necklace at the XpresSpa in JFK airport," Abrahamsen admits that there's "never a dull moment" on the job.

"Every day is a new adventure at Barbara Corcoran Inc.," she says.
